The past few days have felt spring like here in Iowa. Instead of knitting or homeschooling we have spent lots of time outside enjoying the weather. We went on a hike today, which I needed. It had been far too long since I spent some time in the woods. The kids had a picnic lunch (not a normal occasion in January).
Winter will return soon, but for now we are enjoying the warmer weather.

I love seeing your homeschool adventures. It reminds me of when my kids were smol.

We are not enjoying unseasonably warm weather – wind chill was below 10 earlier this week – brrrr!

I’m enjoying all the birds that have chosen to winter in our backyard. With five feeders, two birdbaths and lots of evergreen cover, there’s plenty of action.

I’m jealous! The deer keep eating our feeders so we’re down to suet.

We have deer in our town, but they usually remain in the river’s flood zone. I think the 8 ft fences in our neighborhood are sufficient to keep them away.

Today will be close to 40 which is a nice break from the single digit days earlier in the week. Saturday brings the cold back to town.

It looks like you guys have been having wonderful fun getting outside and enjoying your lovely weather!! It warmed up somewhat here – into the high 20s and low 30s, which is warm for here in January. Not picnic weather though 🙂
