It feels like I just wrote about what I read in September. How can it already be November? I read five books this week, and now I’m ready for it to be warm enough for Bonny and I to meet up and knit outside so I can return her books. Once you start reading Jenny Colgan she is all you want to read. I also think I should have a different rating system for light books, as the Jenny Colgan books are really good, but certainly not fine literature.

Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan. Sometimes you just need to move to the shore to hide from yourself just to find yourself. A major career change might just lead to love. These books are predictable, but such a joy to read. I give this book three out of five stars.

Summer at Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan. So your new life in your new town with your new career and your new boyfriend is going great….or is it? When you lose your job right after you purchase a lighthouse to live in your boyfriend might have to travel for work and you might have to buy a food truck to start a competing bakery. This book was fun once it got started. I enjoyed it enough to purchase Christmas at the Little Beach Street Bakery, so you can look forward to that review in December. I give this book two out of five stars.

Meet Me at the Cupcake Cafe by Jenny Colgan. For a brief synopsis of this book, please read any Jenny Colgan review I’ve written (excluding the moving to a new town part). This book is even better than most of her books. There are strong female friendships and a great storyline. I enjoyed it enough to purchase Christmas at the Cupcake Cafe, so you ca look forward to that review in December. I give this book three out of five stars.

The Loveliest Chocolate Shop in Paris by Jenny Colgan. This book is even better than most Jenny Colgan books. Anna moves to Paris after an industrial accident leaves her injured and jobless. She finds a new career, love, and herself. This was a joy to read, and I was sad when it was over. I give this book three out of five stars.

Troubles in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand. This is the third book in the Winter in Paradise trilogy. I loved the first two books and was excited to devour this book. That didn’t happen. The book was fine, but not as good as the other books. The last chapter wasn’t necessary. I am glad I read it, but I’m glad it is done. I give this book two out of five stars.

I’m going to try to read a few novels I’ve been wanting to read this month. For December I’m going to read as many Christmas romance novels as I can get my hands on.
