I spent the weekend with my Mom and sisters in Cedar Falls. We were there to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (which was wonderful). Before we headed to the show my mom and I headed to the Northeast Iowa Weavers and Spinners spring open house.
The guild has a great location – an entire building, including a dye studio. The guild had a small sale, with goods from members and a few wheels for sale. I found a Babe spinning wheel for a great price. We have been looking for a budget friendly wheel for Audrey, as she likes to spin. The wheel came home with me. I tried it out in Cedar Falls to make sure it worked well.
As soon as I walked in the door this afternoon Audrey was at the wheel.
After she spun for a bit we decided to customize her wheel. Let’s face it, Babe wheels aren’t pretty. Do you know what is pretty? Sparkly vinyl.
She loves it.
Now to find a wheel for Elliot. Audrey does not like how he has been eyeing her wheel.
I hope you had a great weekend.
That is so cool! I love her unicorn and sparkly name sticker đŸ™‚

Making the wheel pretty was a great idea. Seeing your daughter spinning does my heart good. Keeping the fiber arts alive is vital. Good job, mom.

Astonishing to see a 21st century girl spinning yarn. Isn’t it nice when a family member shares your craft?
