I finished some rainbow socks for Pride Month. The yarn is from Desert Vista Dyeworks. These socks are fine. I thought I would love them, but I am regretting not doing a contrast heel and toe.
Oh those are great socks. No need for contrast with heels and toes. I worry when I break yarn in socks. I have this THING where it has to be one continuous strand of yarn. That’s just me.
Your socks are looking wonderful! Happy Pride! I know what you mean about the contrast heel and toe, but they really do look beautiful just the way they are 🙂
I would have gone with black for the contrast. I did it with my pride socks last year and I really like the look. I’m ignoring my sweater and pretending I shouldn’t be working on it.

I popped over hear from bonnyknits, and have to say that I love the way the rainbow socks look even without the contrast heel! I like having all the rainbows everywhere. Though I do completely understand about the way the striped heel messes up the stripe pattern on the foot.
I just cast some on today! I had some self-striping sock yarn that happens to be rainbow colored, so I’m knitting those. I have no expectation of finishing them this month, though!

They look great! But I’m with you on the contrast – in self striping, I now do at least a heel to not break up the striping

If this post had smellovision it would smell like fruit striped gum. I love them!

I love them just as they are – what a great choice for Pride month! Socks are such great projects for the summer months.

They are great for summer. It has only been too hot for me to knit outside once.

Just out of curiousity, what color would you have chosen for contrast?
Working on sweater, sweater, sweater – it’s not a boring knit, but it is large!

I felt the same, wish I’d done contrast heels. I still love them though!

I’m not sure what colour contrast would improve on these fab socks. I really like them with their berry coloured toes.

Last year I used black as the heel and toe on my rainbow socks, and I really like how that looks.

Your socks are always a neat as a pin. Mine never come out that even. I like them just as they are!

They are still pretty without contrasting heel and toe but that would have been cool!
