Frigid temperatures have inspired me to pick my my Northeasterly Blanket again. I hope I continue to knit on it a bit each day. It is slow going with worsted weight yarn on size 4 needles, but I love the dense, warm fabric it is creating.
Haha you are saying it is slow going with worsted weight yarn, yet suggested to me yesterday I make a blanket with my fingering weight scraps lol. I think Aran/worsted weight would be my minimum weight yarn for a blanket.
I can be a bit of a blanket pusher. I love mitered square fingering weight blankets, because I love having the time to knit one square a day and think about the day ahead.
I made a few mitred squares and they all ended up odd shapes and I now use them to attach stitch markers to. I made a start on a Northeasterly but I ripped it out, although think I have a 2″ bit with some progress keepers attached to it. I think fingering weight is only going to be for socks or gloves in my life…I’m turning more and more into Jodi from the Grocery Girls. Next I’ll be outsourcing my knitting lol
I can imagine how nice that would feel on a lap!! How does that work with connecting it to the existing strips, do you pick up a stitch each time you’re on that side?
Definitely the thing to work on during this week! I think you might be a bad influence on me Sarah…I cast on a 3rd knitting project yesterday…a blanket square. Uh oh!
I think you will feel better if you cast on a fourth project. Make sure it is small, so you can finish it and feel a sense of accomplishment when you are back down to three projects. 😉

You could make a scrappy sweater holding two or more stands together.

Your Northeasterly is looking great! This is a perfect time to be working on it too, as you can have it on your lap and stay warm 🙂

I love that blanket. Size 4 needles sound great, but then of course you are talking about a blanket…

It is a good long term project. I may never finish it, but I’m I with that.

You connected it as you go. That was one of the reasons that I decided to cast it on.
