My scheduled cast on for this month was a shawl, which I’m not feeling at the moment. Instead of knitting something I’m not sure I want to make I decided to get a jump start on my Christmas knitting by making an Apiculture Hat for my SIL who has aspirations to become a bee keeper.

Once I started this hat I couldn’t stop, so it went very fast. I used Beaverslide Dry Goods yarn, which is smooshy and rustic at the same time. My favorite part of this hat is the crown.

Now that I’ve finished my September projects it’s back to my WIPs. What are you working on this month?
This is a fun hat. I didn’t recognize the bees until you clued me in.

That is a fantastic hat! What a thoughtful gift:)
I’m working on baby blanket for the third baby of my husband’s nephew. The baby is due in November so I’ve got plenty of time.

I hope the project is mindless enough to do while listening to something interesting.

Love the hat, and how perfect for your SIL! I have a sock on the needles, working up to holding the sweater! Last night I knit while we watched a movie and must have done 10 rows, so I am excited about my knitting future; this seems to be working!

We’re going to have a cold snap this week, with highs in the 50s. I’m excited to be able to knit a sweater outside.

That’s a really fun pattern. I’m impressed you’re already gift knitting. What shawl did you decide against? I’m curious.

Trawlawnee. I still want to make it, but not until I finish my super boring shawl of doom.

That crown is just amazing. WOW. Beaver slide Dry goods is a yarn Amy Beth of the Fat Squirrel , uses often. I must try some.

What a cool hat. I’m itching to start another baby layette as my DIL is expecting and I’m willing her to have a girl. Totally doing it all in pink. But have to finish the blue sweater for friends baby I’m currently working on. It a cute checkerboard (texture not color work) pattern so it zips by quickly. Plus I have that gigantic blanket for my only current granddaughter (twin size, ugh) that is only 1/3 done. Too hot still to work on it.

You should start the layette. It is 2020, a year to find joy where you can.

You should make one. It will be cold enough for one tomorrow.
