My new house doesn’t heat up when the oven is on, so I’m back to baking. Yesterday the kids helped me make animal crackers. The cookie cutters needed to be floured just the right amount for the cookies to come out. The cookies my kids looked horrible. They didn’t mind. Mine turned out OK, but they are not worth the effort.

They are super cute, but I’m not sure I would like them enough to bother. I’m just starting to get the baking urge again, but for cake!

Those are really cute crackers. No baking here other than in the bread machine. To darn hot! (113F) Looking forward to fall when I can start baking again.

No baking here this week I think, we are in the 90’s until next Tuesday…we are usually in the low 80’s by now. I have to do some canning, but will probably wait until Thursday night to start when there are no more piano students. I’ll probably bake the bread then too, might as well suffer once and be done!

I hope it cools down soon. We’ve had really nice weather this week, of course we had a derecho last week, so I feel like we’ve earned it.

They are really impressive looking. I almost baked cookies but we are out of chocolate chips. I did bake scones on Saturday.

Oh that is so nice that the oven doesn’t hear your house! I’ve done some baking at my parent’s place but I go home today and won’t be able to bake unless it’s a cool day

Your cookies look great! Those are fun shapes, but I know those cutters with the indentations can be fussy to work with. Not much baking here – I am thinking about a pie in the near future, but not much else right now.

I have not been doing any baking. I have returned to the office for 6 hrs/day and when I come home there are always a million things staring at me.

Not lately. I’ve been lazy. Our house heats up when the oven is on. I do need to use these lemons from my neighbor’s backyard.

I’m jealous of the lemons. I think we have so much space now the heat can spread out. Our old house was so small it would warm up a lot.

I find cookie cutters hard work too (although yours look amazing) – we’ve been trying to convince our cranky oven to turn out cherry batter puddings this week 🙂

I should be baking in my new fancy-schmancy oven but it’s still too hot and it blows hot air in the room when it’s on so I’m waiting for fall, LOL
