I found a way to occupy my mind earlier this week. I knit a llama in a day. The pattern is the Susan B. Anderson Alpaca pattern, but it looks like a llama to me, so that is what I’m calling it. I’ll be giving it to my aunt who loves llamas.

Llamas have longer necks and ears like bananas and very long noses…alpacas have shorter noses, smaller ears and neck. We learned the difference in my travels round Peru and Bolivia where we saw loads…and vicuña too. I’m sure she will love it though. A llama lover most likely is an alpaca lover too.

Omg so cute. For some reason I connect huge blankets but I have no patience for tiny little knitted toys. I wish I could make them but the needles are usually so small and I can’t see what the heck I’m doing. I have a whole book on how to make meerkats but after one tiny leg and an arm I gave up.

This was worsted weight, which made it manageable.
