WIP Wednesday

The Playground Shawl got some love this week. I was able to knit about an inch on it. I decided to name it the Playground Shawl, because it is a shawl I knit while the kids play. When I have to stop mid row I’ve been dropping down five stitches and changing those stitches to stockinette from garter. This leads to random lines that only I will be able to see. I like them because it will remind me how much knitting I get to do while the kids play. It also makes knitting a lace weight triangle slightly more interesting.

What are you knitting this week?

    1. My stress level is through the roof right now, we are in the process of selling our house and we need to find a new one. I’m hanging on by a thread, but I should be back to my normal level of anxiety in two months.

  1. Your shawl is really turning out lovely 🙂 Great idea adding the lines of stockinette to keep it interesting 🙂 I’m so sorry you are having this house stress. It is no fun at all. However, at the end of it, you will find a perfect house – you’ll see!

  2. I’m understand how stressed you may be. We sold our house a few years ago in a busy market. We had never sold a home before. It was our first and we lived there for 32 years. Moving to another state, was very involved. We closed on both homes the same day. Nuts. I had no small children to manage and try to keep a clean house for showings. You will get past this soon. Try to be good to you. Extra good to you. Can anyone from family help you that is also staying safe during COVID? I love your shawl. I like that you are throwing in some stockinette!!! Big hugs

Just wondering if your children wear masks and gloves at the playground. Seems the cases are on the rise again. I’m actually thinking of starting a shawl, Tin Can Knits inspired me to use some yarn I bought and have been too afraid to use it because it was so expensive. I’m still working on the hounds tooth blanket and Knitting on the baby sweater which is going so fast that I’ll have that done in a few days.

    1. They aren’t wearing masks because we only play at the park if we are the only family there. We live within walking distance of four parks, so we can always find an empty park. I’m not having them wear gloves, as they would hinder climbing. We are using hand sanitizer when we leave. Your houndstooth blanket is beautiful.
