Thankful Saturday

I’m thankful for our new firepit. We spend a lot of time in the yard, and it will be fun to have another area to enjoy. If we have good weather tomorrow I’ll be thankful for s’mores tomorrow night.

I’m thankful for cheap flowers from Costco. They are an easy way to brighten up the house.

I’m thankful for air fryer carrot fries. Everyone but Elliot loves these, and we are well on our way to eating a five pound bag of carrots in a week.

I’m thankful for Wrigley. She is a sweet dog who is great with the kids.

I’m thankful Elliot learned how to pump on the swings. Audrey also knows how to pump. It’s going to be a good summer.

I’m thankful one of our favorite restaurants is open once a week for meal pickup. They aren’t opening any time soon, but once a week you can pick up food to heat up. They also had mango margaritas, so I’ll be trying that later tonight.

I’m thankful the sun has been shining the past couple of days. It was a gray week.

I hope you had a great week!

  1. Excellent things to be thankful for:)
My husband wants to build a fire pit. Did you use plans? I look forward to hearing about it. My one experience involved a lot of smoke in the face. I’d like something that maybe avoids that.

    1. We did not use plans. We built a low brow fire pit. We have a random square of concrete in the yard, about 3×3, and we used old patio pavers we already had to make a ring. It will work for now, but it isn’t anything fancy.

  2. Yeah, my husband is threatening to build a back-yard fire pit also. It doesn’t really fit into my landscape plan. And we have no kids at home who would enjoy using it. I’m waiting to see what he does.

I’ve been doing a ton in my yard all week (with the help of landscapers, of course). My side yard is coming along with a new privet “hedge” of 3 fluffy shrubs and nearly a dozen hostas. Next I need stepping stones and rocks so I can plant the Scottish mosses I bought. The deck is brimful of flowers and herbs and even a few tomato plants.
