WIP Wednesday with some Q&A

I cast on my May Cast On this week- a Christmas stocking for my newest niece. I am using Bartlett Yarns for this stocking, and I am in love with this yarn. I’m on a woolen spun kick, and I love being able to support American wool. I have a long way to go on this project, but I’m actually looking forward to the colorwork.

Yesteday Karen posted a Q & A, and I’ve decided to join in. I would love it if you would join us, either in comments or on your own blog.

The questions are:

  • What one thing has kept you from losing it entirely the last couple of months? It can be crafting but feel free to step outside that box.
  • What meal is your absolute favorite? Be as vague or specific as you wish. Include an appetizer, dessert and drink if you wish.
  • When you think back to your childhood, what is your fondest memory? Again feel free to be vague or specific.
  • Do you plant a vegetable garden or a flower garden (or both!)? What is your favorite thing to grow? Do you ever experiment with what you grow? What was it?

The one thing that has kepe me from losing it entirely in the last couple of months is the ability to go outside. We spend a lot of time in our yard and I walk every day. Spending time in the fresh air makes me feel so much better.

My favorite meal is salad with ginger dressing, miso soup, sushi, and white wine, followed by a Godmother. That is our usual date night in normal times – walk to sushi then walk to the bar of the fancy restaurant in the neighborhood.

My fondest memories are outside – riding my bike, having picnics, painting the deck (with a bucket of water and a paintbrush), and playing at parks.

I usually plant herbs, a tomato plant, and zinnias. I hope to grow my interest in gardening, as I have an attention span of about 3 weeks for taking care of the garden.

I hope you join me in sharing your thoughts. I hope your Wednesday is delightful.

  1. My mind went blank on question 3 when I answered on Karen’s post, but looking back it wasn’t playing with my Tiny Tears doll, my Sindy doll (like a Barbie) and playing with my Playmobile set. I love sushi, but just the vegetarian or cooked or smoked fish ones, Sashimi is not for me. What is a Godmother?

  2. I had never heard of a godmother so looked it up. Simple enough to make. I think I would rather have a godfather since vodka and I are not best friends.

What a sweet Aunt you are to make a Christmas stocking for the wee one. Love the color you have chosen.
