First of all, I want to thank all of you for your kind comments yesterday. I am so happy to be part of this community.
This week I made sandwich bread with 2/3 white whole wheat flour, Buttery Sourdough Sandwich Biscuits with a flower biscuit as requested by Audrey, Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie for One which I made into two cookies and baked on a cookie sheet (thanks to Karen’s son for the recommendation), Salted Chocolate Caramel Knot, Sandwich Bread, Buttery Sourdough Sandwich Biscuits, and Chocolate Chip Sourdough.
This week my two favorite things I made were the chocolate chip cookies and the salted chocolate caramel knot. The cookies are crisp and chewy. I could easily make them into four cookies for dessert for the family. The salted chocolate caramel knot made me feel like a fancy baker. I had no idea that you could do that with sourdough. I’m loving exploring sourdough.
John and the kids love the sourdough biscuits, which means I can put whatever I want in them and the kids will eat them happily.
Have you been baking?
It all looks so good….
I have sourdough dough resting in the refrigerator. I’ll shape it and bake it Thursday. I’ll put it on the counter Wednesday night. The plan is to use it for grilled cheese sandwiches on Friday. Have you tried grilled cheese on sourdough bread? It is the absolute best! We’ve been eating it every Friday but with store bought sourdough bread.

I love grilled cheese on sourdough bread. Or paninis. Now I want a sandwich.

Chocolate chip cookies should be the size of the palm. Seriously! I am happy you are feeling better, and I too find this community very supportive. Be well, my friend!! Love, Regina

There has been talk of a Black Hills vacation this summer. If it happens, I would love to meet for coffee and give you some starter.

Wow!!! They all look amazing. I made vegan brownies with every last baking supply in the cupboard. Now I’m finding people to share them with so I don’t eat the whole pan. Surely chocolate delivery has to be considered essential work in a lockdown.

Wow such a perfect loaf of bread! I wish I could be more interested in making things but with my kitchen torn apart and all of my baking items stored in boxes downstairs it’s kind of hard to get in enthused. I did make box brownies for my husband and a lemon meringue pie for our Easter dinner, but it’s tricky to cook yet.

Having your kitchen torn apart must make this time even more stresful.
