This week I was able to finish a project. I made two Winter Walk hats. I made one for myself last month, but I ended up giving it to Jess when we went to brunch. I knew I wanted to make myself another Winter Walk, because I love the hat. I realized I had the yarn and the poms to make two more that match the hat I gave to Jess. I decided to knit two more Winter Walks so that Ivy and I can match Jess when we go to brunch later this month.
Do you ever give your knits away randomly? I often give away hats or cowls I’m wearing if a friend likes it. I know I can make another one. Jess is the same way, which is how I got my favorite mittens.

I have offered to give away things I’ve made that I’m wearing but no one has taken me up on the offer. I’ll keep trying though:)

Nice stitch on that hat. Yes, I sometimes give away my knits without a lot of forethought. My recipients are always family or close friends whom I know will value the garment as much as I do.

Hahah I give stuff away to my friend who’s 4’11” and tiny if I forgot to check gauge and my tight knitting comes back to bite me. I shoved my recent gloves at her tonight in fact!

I do love the hat in that color! I need to make one for myself in a brighter color. Maybe I need to be more aggressive about giving stuff away, just handing it over if they compliment it! LOL

I’ll bring you a hat in April! I usually just hand it over if the complement it. I only have a few things I adore and won’t share.

Well then don’t be surprised if I bring you something too! I’d definitely hand over a hat or a cowl, but maybe not a shawl–those take too long for me to just give to most people.

I’ve given away two shawls, but they were given to very special people. I would not normally do it. Hats, however, I love to give away. They are so fun to knit.

Matching hats for the win! It is nice to give people something that makes them happy 🙂 It doesn’t happen often, but every once in a while I do just randomly give projects away.

Great hat and colour. I’ve given away a woven shawl and and baby cardigan because the person I was showing the items liked them. But usually I plan to make something as a gift.

They’re prettyyy! I’ve only spontaneously given away a make once (so far), and it gave me a kind of lightbulb moment – it had honestly never occurred to me to just give something away like that. I’ll definitely be doing it again.

I love giving things away, I always have a hat I want to make myself, and it is easier to justify if I give one away.
