Sock It To Me Monday

I’m passed the gusset on John’s second sock. I feel like there might be an ending to this project at some point.

Things are moving a bit faster since I switched to my new Addi Easy Knit 10 inch. I know it is risky to change needles in the middle of a project, even if they are the same size, but I couldn’t resist the temptation.

I’m attempting to hold off casting on a new project until I finish these socks, but I can’t promise anything.

How are your socks looking?

  1. Do you know why most sock patterns are CO 64 or 72 stitches…I am doing 64 with 2mm needles and they are all a wee bit too loose. Why don’t people cast on 60? Or is it just bad luck every pattern I’ve seen says 64 for small? I’m thinking about ripping out current sock and trying it with 60 stitches instead.

  2. My socks are looking great (if I do say so myself). I am ready to turn the heel on pair 2/sock 2. That means I can cast on another sock!! I have a set of US 1 9″ circulars, but I really think magic loop is my favorite. I switch to dpns for the heel and gusset though.
