This is one of those weeks where it feels like I knit and knit and make no progress. I think that is a problem with shawls. I swear I’ve been working on it, but the only reason I can tell is because the progress keeper has moved.

I’ve turned the heel on John’s sock. I’m now at a mindless point, perfect for swim lesson knitting tomorrow. I’m enjoying having a pair of socks on the needles I don’t feel the need to rush through.

What are you working on this week? Do you feel like you are making any progress?
Both of your projects look great! Shawls do tend to feel slow to me. Socks seem like the first one is slow and the second one much faster:)

I agree, the second sock goes faster.

Those are making steady progress. 🙂 My Orkney yarn arrived today but all I can do is pet it until after Saturday. I am not sure about 2 colors, but 2/14 isn’t bad I guess!

You are happy with 86% of your yarn choices. That is impressive. I can’t wait to see you Orkney in action, it is going to be so pretty.

I’ll do a post on my prep this weekend. I have selected my alternate colors, but will wait a bit until I can pair up the color combos from the pattern.

Both those projects look really snazzy. I’m in barely knitting mode. Work has been too crazy for me to relax and knit.

I hope you can relax and knit soon.

That’s what happens to me with sweaters, and then I get discouraged because I feel like I’m getting nowhere!

That is exactly why I haven’t touched my retirement cardigan for 4 years.

Shawl here. I’m on a very boring portion in which the increases happen at the rate of one stitch every four rows. Yes, it feels like NO Progress is happening.

It is the worst!

My bus project is currently socks – I did a heel flap and gusset which I haven’t done in a while so progress is feeling slow because I forgot how long it takes to decrease all those stitches!

It does seem to take a long time, especially if I break it into more than one sitting. I hope you finish soon.

I did 5 rows on Void yesterday and that took many hours, so depressed by so little progress I cast on a pair of socks. I keep thinking of giving up on finishing Void the rows are crazy long so the growth is mostly width, not rows. I can’t rip it out but am quite tempted to just add a few garter rows just so it is quicker.

I would be tempted to do the same thing.

Your shawl and sock are both looking great! I have been having that with my sweater back – knitting and knitting and knitting and not seeming to get anywhere!

It is so frustrating. I need to just sit down and work on it until see progress, but I might need a break from it first.

Sometimes that helps 🙂 They are really looking wonderful, though!
