Tired Thursday

Today was one of those days where we didn’t stop. I’m exhausted. I thought the kids were, but they are still up talking to each other. I don’t have many days where I feel like a cool mom, but today the kids had a great day.

We started with swim lessons at the Y. It was our first swim lesson since before Thanksgiving, and both kids were excited to get back in the pool. I was excited to have a half hour to knit and watch the kids swim.

After swim lessons we headed to the park. It was almost sixty degrees here, which is very unusual for January. The kids played and I walked laps around the playground (it’s an easy way to get a walk in).

We grabbed lunch and headed to the zoo. We had a Zoo Tots class today – a program for preschoolers where they read a book, make a snack, do a craft, and meet an animal. Today the animal was a Flemish Giant rabbit. It weighs 15 pounds. After class we wandered around the zoo until it closed.

When we got home we made homemade hot pockets. I made a quick 2 ingredient dough (equal parts Greek yogurt and self rising flour) and let the kids pick the sandwich toppings they wanted. I cooked them in the air fryer for 10 minutes and they ate something that was delicious and healthy.

Now that I’ve told you all about my day I’m going to go to bed. I am worn out. Tomorrow we have no plans, and I’m very much looking forward to a slower pace throughout the day.
