Christmas Yarn

I was organizing my yarn today and realized I never shared the yarn goodies I was gifted over Christmas with you. I was gifted some fabulous things and will be using everything this year.

John got me Alterknit Stitch Dictionary, which I’ve been wanting since it was published in 2017. I’ve already started a bike hat for John from the book, and have plans to try out a few more motifs this year. One of my goals for knitting this year is getting better at colorwork, and this book is inspiring me with all of the fun motifs.

John’s parents surprised me with more yarn from Italy. I plan on using some of the yarn they brought back for a colorwork cowl later this year, using a motif from Alterknit. I think I’ll also use some to make some fingerless gloves.

My sister bought me some yarn from FIrefly Fiber Arts Studio in Chicago. It is a skein of Why Knot Fibers in their Rey of LIght colorway. My plan is to have a sock from this yarn on the needles by the time we actually make it to see Star Wars. The yarn has so many colors in it, one photo does not do it justice.

I’m also lucky to have a new place to keep my projects. Ivy gave me an amazing knitting bag, which is going to go with me everywhere. I might even move my enamel pins over to my new bag (which should tell you how much I love it).

Did you get any yarn goodies this year?
