Yesterday I got to the point in the sockhead cowl where I needed to just finish it. Tonight I accomplished that. I love the yarn. I like the finished product. I just got to the point where I was done having it as a WIP.

I think I will love having this on really cold days. I can pull it up over my nose and pull a hat down over my eyebrows and stay less frigid.
With the completion of this project I have knit all of the yarn that I purchased at the Iowa Sheep and Wool Festival this year. I am now free to buy the yarn I want at the festival next year without any guilt. I will probably hold back though, as I have a fun trip planned to the Wisconsin Sheep & Wool Festival next September.
What a great idea for a cowl, that really should stop it slipping down and allowing drafts. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your idea about the use all the yarn from a particular show before going again. I’ve got a yarn buying ban in 2020, but this sounds like an idea to concentrate next year’s usage on what I bought at a particular fibre festival and then I can go guilt free in 2021!

It feels really good to actually use the beautiful festival yarns. I think I’m going to keep it up with all of the festivals I go to, because the last thing I need is a bigger stash.

I also have a yarn buying ban in 2020. I’m going to spend some time putting my stash on Ravelry so I can plan to use it up!

I have never put stash on Ravelry before. I might need to try it.

That looks great! I wore my sockhead cowl for the first time yesterday while I was walking the dog, and I love it. Congrats on using up the yarn–that’s quite an accomplishment!

I wore mine tonight on a walk and I love it. It is cold enough that I put it over my nose while I walked. I’m going to be making one for John soon.

Your cowl is fantastic!! I bet you’ll get lots of opportunities to wear it:)
Congratulations on using up all the yarn you bought! I’ve got a bit of a yarn buying moratorium going on here too. Only yarn for Loopy Academy can be bought and it must be knit right away.

That is a good plan for cutting stash. I would really like to knit my way to no stash at some point.

I’ve heard about the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool festival from one of my friends. I’d like to check out that one myself.

If you decide to go next year let me know. I would love to meet in real life.

That’s an achievement! I’m sure there’s still yarn in my stash from festivals years ago.

I think it will be my new goal for fiber festivals. It might keep my yarn buying in check.

Your cowl is lovely, and looks so cozy as well! Good for you knitting all the yarn you bought at this year’s fiber festival – that is a great goal!

Fab! Looks great. I have some yarn still left to be used before my next one in spring. Must get to it after Christmas.
