WIP Wednesday

OK, it’s not Wednesday, but I was out really late last night and didn’t get a post written. I was at an Indigo Girls concert, which really brought me back to my college days. I forgot to bring my knitting, which I was kicking myself for when there was 30 minutes between the opening act and the real show.

I’ve been doing some knitting this week, primarily on my socks. They are easy to knit and really fun to see progressing. I’m done with the gusset and hope to finish the foot in the car tomorrow. I live in a dream world where I can accomplish ALL OF THE KNITTING on a three hour drive.

My sweater has been ignored most of this week. I have attached the pocket linings, which was exciting. I now have about 9 inches to go before I get to do anything interesting to it again. I think we’re looking at our newest Finishing Friday project.

I’ve started to love the baby sweater. This is some of my last Garden Wool & Dye Company yarn, and working with it makes me realize how much I will miss her yarn. The yarn is dyed with indigo and osage orange, making for some nice variation. I’m looking forward to seeing the lace blocked. I need to find buttons for this sweater, but I suppose I don’t need to start worrying about that until I start the button band.

I’m heading off to a craft weekend tomorrow, and my hope is to finish this sweater. I have a lot of hopes for the weekend – I’m packing about 10 projects. Apparently I don’t plan on sleeping.

  1. All your projects are beautiful! The sock and both the sweaters are looking great! Do tell about your crafting weekend! I know the feeling about wanting to pack and knit ALL the things. Hope you have a wonderful time and get lots done 🙂
Also – Indigo Girls concert? That sounds like such a fun time!

    1. I think she’s already stopped selling. She quit to focus on teaching natural dying and she just had a baby. I’m so sad she is no longer dying for sale, as I loved that she sourced her yarn to the farm and in some cases to the sheep.
