Sparkly yarn knits up almost as fast as striped yarn. I’m ready for the heel flap on sock one. I was able to get a lot of knitting done while chatting with my cousin this weekend.

The last time I knit this pattern I found it a little difficult to remember where I was at. This time it is easy. The difference? I no longer have a 2 and 3 year old. All knitting is easier now.
In non-sock related knitting news, I wound the self patterning yarn today. It is an argyle cake. I think I’ll be casting on tonight because I can’t wait to see it knit up.

I hope you are staying warm today. We woke up to this:

At least I have knitting and caramel apple cider to keep me warm.
Oh boy! Snow! I hope the kids enjoyed it.
Your sock looks fantastic! It is surprising how much easier a pattern is when you can apply your fully rested brain:)
I’m looking forward to seeing your argyle yarn as it’s knit up!

I’m having a hard time working on anything by the argyle yarn, but I’m trying.

We have a little snow here too, and I’m pretty excited about it. That cake of yarn is a work of art!

So far the cake is prettier than the scarf, unfortunatley.

You made me laugh with your comment about 2-3 year olds! I pulled out an old down comforter to stay warm last night. It worked just fine.

It is so much easier to do things now. I can’t believe I survived two toddlers at once.

Have fun with the snow angels! Your sock is beautiful – love the pattern and the yarn! I can’t wait to see the argyle skein knitted up too – did they give you a pattern that will make the planned pooling work, or do you need to figure out the stitch count for it? It already looks like argyle in the cake! Keep warm and enjoy the knitting and the caramel apple cider 🙂

It has a pattern so the pattern will work out, but it didn’t work for me. I’ve changed stitch counts twice, and I’m still not getting what they say I should. I’ve put it in a time out.

That’s got to be disappointing! Planned pooling looks neat, but I get the sense there’s a lot of work that goes into making it come out looking like the patterns show.

Sounds perfect and comforting. I’d rather a dusRing if snow than the constant rain we have at the moment.

Constant rain = depressing. Snow = excuse to drink hot chocolate. I hope your weather improves.
