The Christmas socks are done. I’m happy with how they turned out. I’m especially happy with how the striping worked out with the heel flap and gusset.

I also make Elliot a hat this weekend. He wanted a red pompom. I thought it would look silly, but it turns out the red looks great on the hat.

Thanks to finishing these projects I’m only around 1650 g of yarn in the yarn diet hole. I don’t think I’ll get out of it this year, but I’m going to try.
The hat and socks are fantastic!!
A messy house is the sign of a creative family:) Enjoy the fun and worry about the mess later when the kids are grown.

Thank you for saying that. I normally block it out, but when I saw the photo I was shocked at how messy it is.

Your Christmas socks look wonderful! Love the way the stripe pattern worked out on the heel – very cool! And Eliot’s hat looks so cute! His red pompom really does look great with that blue. You don’t have a mess. You have happy, active, creative kids – what could be better!

Nice socks and hat! When my kids were little, we lived in a constant state of chaos. As soon as I would pick up the Legos, they would dump them all over the floor again. At some point I gave up.
