Wow. I have been really bad about blogging lately. I have been knitting, but I have been busy with holiday prep so I keep forgetting to write. Let me fill you in.
I finished my weather pattern socks. I love them. They are cheery and look like the weather map of a severe thunderstorm on a summer day.
I’ve been working on my Christmas socks for my mom too. I’m using the Simple SKYP pattern that I can’t get enough of. It’s more interesting than a simple rib and they seem to fly of the needles. I hope to have these done by next week. The socks are really a green/teal color (Madeline Tosh Cousteau), but this yarn does not photograph well without natural light (and I live in a cave).
I’m also working on my second pair of Christmas socks for John. He appreciates hand knit socks so much, I love making them for him. I should be able to finish these in time for Christmas. He doesn’t know I’m making them, so I can only knit on them when he’s at work or I’m out of the house.
So as you can see, I have been knitting. I even managed to sew a seam on the cardigan that summer forgot (you totally forgot I was knitting a cardigan, didn’t you?). My progress has been slowed significantly by my thumb – it is cracking on my right hand where I hold the yarn. I have been knitting with a band-aid or a finger cot for the past month. It makes it so I can knit, but I can’t knit as much as I would like.
I hope you’re doing well and your Christmas knitting is progressing!
These are lovely! The weather pattern socks really do like a thunderstorm radar!
